Steel 79 is a unique small size contemporary modern abstract sculpture by Dutch artist Carl Möller. This work explores the effect of adding and deleting diagonal planes in a perfect steel cube of 20x20x20 cm. In doing so, the artist creates open cube sculptures that show a totally different image from each side you look at it. The sculpture is made from 2 mm steel and finished with an industrial matt metallic grey spray paint on the outside and a matt gloss white spray paint on the inside. The pictures shown are taken from a position perpendicular to the object, the in situ picture however shows that the sculpture can also be displayed in different ways, for instance 45 degrees rotated.
